It did not take me nearly as long as I expected to get to the rocket silo.

    Posted: 20 Feb 2021 05:43 AM PST

I just got Factorio a couple weeks ago and it didn't really take all that long to make it to the rocket silo. I've built all the way up to yellow science, not space science yet, and I have the rocket silo built. After I built the rocket silo and looked at what I needed to build the rocket, I realized it was items I had already began producing.

Before I continue, let me just say that I absolutely love the game.

I haven't dabbled at all into nuclear, liquefaction, military trains, or most of the things that don't directly impact the rocket launch. I do, however, have the spidertron because I had a huge biter problem, which I resolved.

Basically, a similar thing is happening to me with Factorio as happened to me with Minecraft. I though the ender dragon was end game and I could restart after that. I thought the rocket silo was the end and I could restart after that. I was wrong. In a way, the rocket silo is only the beginning. There are so many more things to do and it's just a bit overwhelming, and I love it.

This was really just a brain dump but I marked it as discussion because I thought it might start a conversation.

Nothing special, just some tracks I thought looked nice in my base.

(Dear Wube) On the Expansion Pack Announcement

    Posted: 19 Feb 2021 03:17 PM PST

    Dear Wube Software,

I just wanted to say that I am very excited about expansion pack coming at some future date. Also, I wanted you to know that, much like Rimworld, putting out a big new expansion every so often is as good as printing money in my circle. We will 100% buy it at any price you sell it for. Personally, at 920 hours played I am really starting to feel a bit bad for how little I paid for it so many years ago...

Thank you for all the work you put into the game so far. You created something truly special and wonderful.

    One of your greatest fans,

    PonSquared.

PS: More variety in enemy types, please!!

PPS: This game truly is the god game for people like myself with Autism/ADHD.

    Enemy engineer AI?

    Posted: 20 Feb 2021 04:37 AM PST

I sorta wanna play Factorio again, but I am looking for something different and was looking over mods

Is there a mod that introduces enemy engineers? So like PVP but with AI's?

I have tried looking but cannot find one

I struggled with basic Rail Signaling for a long time. If you're in the same situation, hopefully my latest tutorial can help you out!

A Work in Progress (Krastorio and SE)

    Why this doesn´t work?

    Space exploration, signalling and stuff.

    Posted: 20 Feb 2021 07:04 AM PST

So. I launched a bucket of vanilla rockets. I made a decent base with a lot of advanced stuff that makes it rather easy to fill up rockets or cannons to go to space.

I've heard it gets pretty advanced from this point on. Which is a new adventure.

However: I went to the platform twice to set up the rocket science. I am struggling with beginning to automate the delivery and pick up's between Nauvis and the other planets that I am going to colonize.

The main concept would to work with wires and signals, but I am not that experienced. What to do? Any advice, tips, ideas or comments are welcome.

Why robots have to do this? Why? I can't reserve every spot because otherwise it'll jam for a yet another reason

How to prevent this unloading / sideloading issue? What causes it - is it the stack inserters pulling from one side in the landfill assemblers?

Can I change the way the car drives?

When on foot if I want to go left/right/up/down I press the correct key. When driving can I have it behave the same way?

Is there a mod to remove all desert?

    Posted: 20 Feb 2021 05:52 AM PST

I have been looking for a mod that can totally remove desert. I want a grass only map. I know I can change the moisture and terrain types but even then I still get some desert maps. I have tried alien biomes but I don't like the trees it spawns. I used to use the single color terrain mod but that hasn't been updated since 0.18 and longer works. anyone have any ideas?
