- I am a new player. this is my first time to end game. I discovered robots. I was still on steam power. please how do i survive this? i buffed biters a lot when i first started as i like a challenge, hence the monstrosity on the left.
- 20 million circuits complete... Saved the best achievements for last.
- Why wont my train path to the right? I tried having a t intersection and branch off from there but that diddn't work. Im now trying a loop but nope. Its supposed to go to Luke
- Newish (100 hours) player here. Am I doing this bus thing right? Trying to escape the spaghetti.

- Ahhhh - Dectorio! :) And LTN. And a customized city block layout from Nilaus.

Has anyone tried using VLSI software to lay out Factorio factory components? Posted: 20 Feb 2021 09:18 PM PST VLSI is (from what I gather) the technique used to place individual components on microchips. Each component has a specific purpose and together they carry out the functionality of the microchip. In many ways factories in Factorio do the same - there are specific parts doing specific functions (making specific products), each part has a space requirement, there is a need to transfer things between components (with speed and latency requirements) and the locations of the inputs (raw resources) are constrained. As such, I was wondering if anyone has tried using VLSI software to find optimal factory layouts. This would not be a low-level layout within individual components (such as the placement of beacons, belts, etc.) but the high-level layout of the factory as a whole. I used a graph generating software (graphviz) to map out dependencies between the components, which resulted in a web-like graph with components in semi-optimal locations based on the locations of that component's inputs and outputs. However I can't help but think VLSI software would be better suited for this purpose. [link] [comments] | ||
