    If your train can't path and you don't know why, you can use the temporary train stop keys (ctrl+ mouse over in train map), to follow along the tracks until the white line disappears and you know there's a problem there.

    Why is the Tank breaking distance so long?

    This issue is really starting to bother me lot, why does it take FOREVER when stopping a nuclear tank at full speed? This makes the tank insanely annoying to use. THIS is what a tank braking hard looks like. From 60 to 0 in 10 yards/meters, non of that gliding forever BS.

    I think that it would be very easy to change the braking force of the tank so that it goes from full speed to stopped in say 2 train car length. That'll save me that "crash wall" at the entrance of my base that I just run the tank into to save time. It would also make the game more fun by removing one of the few annoying aspects.

    Discussing trains for bot outpost. Iron and copper plate

    I'm currently starting a semi-vanilla mega base using parts of factorio extended mainly for power cause nuke power killed me on a previous playthorough in terms of UPS. Yea upgrade laptop factory must grow lol anyways I was wondering is it better to load trains with 6 stack inserters with requestor chest set to 666 each or half it and set the requestor chest to say 333?

    This is my first attempt at nuclear power after a few hundred hours into the game. It's also the first time I've ever shared a blueprint, so I don't expect to receive much positive feedback (but hey, that's why I'm here, to learn!).

    What I tried to do here was create a setup that only ran when steam was getting low. So, I separated the electrical wiring for each half of the setup so I could use green/red wires on each half. By doing this, it allowed me to:

    • have inserters remove spent fuel cells only when steam levels fell below a threshold in the tanks
    • inserters only insert a fuel cell when a fuel cell gets removed

    There's a few things I think are wrong with this setup:

    • I'm not sending in enough water. I'm struggling hard with transporting water over the long distance to get to my setup.
    • I think I'm short by about 3 steam turbines if what I've read about ratios is correct

    What are the current thoughts on train lengths and single vs double headed?

    I've been playing for a few years, though I took a break around the time when nuclear power was introduced. I'm starting up again now and curious what the current thoughts are on favourite train length setups.

    Has any of that math changed for engine to carriage ratios?

    I've had two big-ish bases, one that just had 1-2 trains and another that had 2-8-2 trains. The downside with the first one is that I ended up needing a lot of trains. A lot. I liked the double headed trains, it made setting up stations really simple, but it made refeuling a headache as I had to make sure each head got refeuled.

    What do you guys do in your current playthroughs?

    Why do trains want to enter same slot in LTN stacker

    I have a 20 slot stacker that is used as a LTN station. Despite having chain signals in the entrance the trains regularly jam up. There are free slots but for some reason the trains sometimes path to the same slot in the stacker. In the picture the two jammed trains both want to enter slot 3 which is already taken. The trains do not repath and are stuck forever until I manually drive them.

    What am I doing wrong?

    Have the wall pickup time be the same as gates.

    Lets say you need to expand. But that glorious wall you built a few hours ago needs to be destroyed - its true purpose - or find a new home.

    You could right click for days on end... clink... clink... clink... (the noise haunts me now) and the wall is picked up!

    Or, after having spent too long picking up walls, you realise picking up a gate is much quicker and placing a gate is automatic. Now here I am changing every wall to a gate and then picking up gates.

    Please, have walls be the same pick up time as gates.
