Remember when you didn't know how to play? Posted: 12 Aug 2020 12:25 PM PDT 1.0 is mere days away! Yay!! Let's not forget that the devs are going to have a marketing campaign behind this launch. Which hopefully means lots of new players trying out this amazing game. That also means lots of questions on this subreddit. One of my favorite parts of this game is the community. I know we all have 1000s of hours in this game now, but don't forget all the things you learned along the way. Let's be kind to the new players starting out on their factorio journey and be the amazing community that just takes this already amazing game to the next level! This has been your daily factorio PSA. Thank you. [link] [comments]

Is everybody bad at making an efficient factory their first go? Posted: 13 Aug 2020 12:04 AM PDT Because my first factory is a disorganized mess lmao, and automating a lot of processes has meant haphazardly building new belts around and underneath the existing things strewn about my factory. How long did it take you to learn the best ways to set up a new world/build things with future automation in mind? I imagine there's a lot of good tutorials on youtube, I wanted to go in completely blind but I can already tell i'm lacking in efficiency. Connecting my iron furnaces and assembly machines to move pipes and gears over to my copper area to make engines to then make blue science packs really highlighted how unoptimizable my current set up is lol it's a mess of belts from all over the place Am I dumb and bad or is this just a natural part of learning the game for you guys too? And when i'm more competent should a start a new world or just relocate? I just got the game on Tuesday and I'm loving it so far! [link] [comments]
Always save before attacking even an expansion party Posted: 13 Aug 2020 04:20 AM PDT So I ran into an expansion party that was in the middle of spawning spawners, but I caught them in time before anything was spawned and I managed to get their attention. Now normally if this happens you're safe right? Well apparently not because a spawner appeared right under my tank and deleted it. Not destroyed. Deleted it. So yea make sure you save beforehand. 1.0 is around the corner: Let's share your planned map settings and your goal for that map. Posted: 12 Aug 2020 11:30 PM PDT I want to try a city block base style with increased science needed. I am still debating whether it be 10 times or 50 or even 100 times the normal cost ... So richness very high, size very big but a bit apart. No cliffs, medium/high amount of water. Biters on, time evolution deactivated and bc of the increased cost with lesser evolution factor (depending on the increased cost multiplier 3 or 5 or 9) What about you? [link] [comments]
Posted: 13 Aug 2020 06:44 AM PDT My daughter has seen me play and wants to try, I would like to have her go through the demo, but based on her experiences in minecraft and other games, I think she'll get discouraged having to face biters. Is there a mod or setting to turn them off for the demo? Thanks! [link] [comments]

Does any1 know a mod that has a combinator that outputs it’s coordinates Posted: 13 Aug 2020 05:36 AM PDT It's to know which station with a full train is closest to another station. I know it's practically a constant combinator but I need it to work blueprinted. Thanks in advance. [link] [comments]
Posted: 12 Aug 2020 12:44 PM PDT belts poining the wrong way, miners working without power cables stuff like that. I recall the image was heavily edited to be triggering as heck. [link] [comments]
