    want some spaghett?

Everything is a mess, I have no idea what I am doing and I love it. First proper playthrough, can see myself doing this for a few years more. Let's hope I get good at some point.

Help with setting up LTN, a few issues im havin

    Posted: 08 Jul 2020 07:56 AM PDT

Long story short, ive watched some vids on youtube about LTN and thought I had it all figured out.

I've setup a simple network which is working minus a few issues.

    1. My trains dont wait for full load. It takes more than 120s to load said train and once 120s passed, the train will leave. I know that I can increase the timeout to something higher than 120s but im wondering, is there a way to make the train not depart the loading station until its completely full ignoring the timeout set by the mod?
    2. Same issue as above but now when unloading. My trains dont wait for full unload, instead once 120s pass, they depart with items still in their wagons.

Ive never used LTN before, ive been doing fine with vanilla trains but thought of trying LTN in my latest session. Initially I was going to try TSM but many people suggested LTN because it was better, some did mention its a bit more complicated.

    Suggestions?

Is there an internal number that limits the number of biters who will attack at any given time?

    Posted: 07 Jul 2020 08:50 PM PDT

If I roll into deep biter territory and the automated artillery fires in every direction, the biters seem to only come from one place - despite shells flying and scoring kills everywhere. This is a map without water and cliffs, so they aren't getting stuck anyplace. It seems that globally only a fraction of all biters are being aggro'd despite all of them in range getting their kitchens explosively remodeled.

So is there some numerical limit the engine has for sending biters to respond to threats?

Edited to add: Is there a limit to how far they will travel to attack? Is it possible that my gun range is greater than what they will bother responding to?

Why is my train taking the longer route by looping around my second depot to head north? Couldn't it just have gone West a bit, then North?

I forgot to filter and limit my train wagon for satellite building...

Should I automate accumilators or should I try to reduce electricity consupmtion?

    Posted: 08 Jul 2020 07:58 AM PDT

So am currently 50 hours in my first game and my electricity consumption when the factory is semi dormant is 70 MW+, I built around 10k accumulators and 2 nuclear reactors. I rely on the usual steam engines to power the factory when I am not researching something, and turn on the reactor when I need more energy or to recharge the empty accumulators.

The thing is, my factory is consuming more and more energy when it is semi-dormant that exceeded my steam engines electricity, thus the accumulators are getting empty for a few minutes until I notice and turn on the nuclear reactors.

I don't want to make the nuclear energy my main source of energy as my factory currently won't fully consume it, so should I automate accumulators and build a few more thousands? Solar is not really an attractive option as I am playing on peaceful.

I'd like to get the speedrun achievements...

    Posted: 08 Jul 2020 12:24 AM PDT

Ok so, to be honest im not really a good speedrunner. At all. But I'd like to get at least 1/2 of the 3 hardest achievements (i already did the lazy bastard one, but that's pretty easy to do)...i mean, "craft a train in 90 minutes" (?) And the 2 "big" speedruns..

So my question is... is there a schedule that i must follow, maybe a recommended seed, something like that?

Do you have any tips for me?

    Thank you for your time.

I don't think I'll have to worry about power for a while...

Saw this boiler design sometime last year and liked it-- I also don't like worrying about keeping the lights on, so a bit of overkill in early game isn't terrible... is it?
