Careful this "ruetama" guy joined my public server, destroyed our base, and spawn trapped me.

I hear a lot about "Bot-based" hubs being the choice for lategame. How?

    Posted: 11 Jan 2020 04:10 AM PST

So yeah, title, pretty much. Where would this hub be located and how do you keep it separate from the rest of your bot-networks (in order to not kill UPS) and still have it be viable for you? Anyone have examples?

Soo.. I'm trying to do a more organized base (avoiding spaghetti)... this is how it's going, any advice/suggestion?

211 hours of Factorio and I finally decided to "finish" the game. Also Shipped some fish.

Factorio is unplayable! Pasting 1200x900 blueprint takes whole RAM for ages (fix it please), but it's worth it I guess

    Good old stories

    Posted: 11 Jan 2020 04:50 AM PST

The devs of Factorio did a really good job on building a stable multiplayer environment. Little to no desyncs anymore.

Well I remember some friend screaming in panic over voice-chat. We had no clue, at some point he got a desync. So the other player was doing some logging with a shotgun, like you always would. But in this case, the player was desynced in an newly build refinery.

Still felt really proud when the Devs told is in a FFF that they were amazed about the hours and hours of playtime on an unstable multiplayer which was playable on LAN. Well we spent multiple hours over the web.

We so much fun with weird weird desyncs.

Mods for a first time playthrough.

    Posted: 11 Jan 2020 04:53 AM PST

I havent played in a while and I wanted to know what some "must have" mods are. I'm going to try and get my sister to play, it's her first time, so I dont want to go crazy with mods like bobs and angels type things.

Thinking of things like squeak through and general quality of life mods, any recommendations are appreciated though.

Thinking of buying the game, but have 1 question.

    Posted: 10 Jan 2020 07:54 PM PST

So, actually I was playing on friends PC (he bought the game on steam) and made decent base (i put A LOT of time into it). Question is, how can I transfer save from other PC to my PC after buying the game? What folder should I copy? Thanks in advance.

Looking for some server hosting advice

    Posted: 11 Jan 2020 01:50 AM PST

This is probably a stupid question but can I have a server up without the game running? I recently got a friend into the game and we're doing a play through together so I can show him the ropes. So far we have each been making a save of the game when we log off and we then use whoever's save last had stuff done on it but I wanted to see if it possible I could be constantly running the server in the background and he can join even when I'm not there or would the game need to be up and running 24/7?

The reason I this it's possible is I've seen Nilaus playing a game off a server that timbo has set up but timbo is not in the game.

Finally launched a rocket! 3rd world before going "screw it" and keeping this world until i win it. Does anyone have suggestions for good vanilla enhancing mods, I usually don't like larger game-changers in games.

Does anyone know ways to improve my mediocre spaghetti base

Gears on bus. Yes or No?

    Posted: 10 Jan 2020 02:14 PM PST

For me personally its a yes. So much iron goes into gears anyway, and gears compress the belt, allowing more iron throughput.
