Posted: 28 Dec 2019 05:40 AM PST Hello everyone. This is from yesterday. I never play too long factorio, but start again some days ago. Creat a new map and put better pratices on it. But, between creating my complex of belts and insertors. A failure in my energy drove me into a rebuild coal mining to recover energy suplie from generators on steem. In the end i realize i will need but another coal suply. Then i check map and see a good spot between 2 aliens bases. I already devastate 3 or 4 at this point. Get rid of some ammo from turrets of south (less aliens) and run noth to pick my new coal site. This is the problem i run out of ammo in noth battle and aliens attack from south. I never make to many defenses there, because my 5 turrets are enought, but not thia time. I lost my entire factory the remaining stuff is random... All my main bus gone. My kit production obliterated. My new belts complex in pieces. My iron mine site still, at least the far away one. But this attack is far from what i think possible in 8:30 hours of newbie playthrough. I spend all my easy coal close to start point. Get died, get destroied. Just because i no put too many defenses. Next play i make a complex for ammo and turrets and walla soon as possible. After main bus i guess [link] [comments]

How can I make factorio cuter? Posted: 28 Dec 2019 07:17 AM PST I'd like to play factorio with my SO but she's put off by how bleak it is. What are your favourite mods that make the alien planet a more pleasant place to be? For example: make biters more adorable, allow you to have pets, customise your character, decorate your base, make everything more colourful, etc? Thank you! [link] [comments]

Just downloaded this wonderful game and smelted some iron ore. I loved every second of it. Posted: 27 Dec 2019 10:51 AM PST I literally learned after 15 minutes wandering hopelessly that left click does let me manually mine. Smelted some iron ore after few more rounds of different mineral deposits. I face done so little but invested 2 hours in this. And, no boredom whatsoever. This game is wonderful and I surely think I'll be playing this for years to come. [link] [comments]

Posted: 27 Dec 2019 07:55 PM PST Tomorrow I'll have some real free time to put towards the project. TODO a lot of stuff, figure out how much can be done gameside, ie can I grab mouse control control, single tick speed possibilities Thought an update might be a good idea [link] [comments]
Posted: 27 Dec 2019 08:40 AM PST Hi all! New to factorio (100 hrs in) and I'm wondering if it's more common to destroy the nests or to beef up defense and allow them to attack?? Also, this is the worst game in the entire world. I can't eat. I can't sleep. All I can do is factory. [link] [comments]
what do people do after they finish the game Posted: 27 Dec 2019 04:51 PM PST I'm new to factorio but I see not much point in replaying the game after I finish it once (which I haven't yet), yet lots of people play factorio a lot. what do you guys do? [link] [comments]
Updated blueprints for Combinator Ethernet (now with two signal modes!) Posted: 27 Dec 2019 09:26 AM PST A couple years ago, I posted my design for Combinator Ethernet with collision avoidance. I've been fiddling with that design since, redesigning the core and adding new features. I finally got around to wrapping up the design and compacting the blueprints. OverviewEther-what?These blueprints form a communication network that shares a single signal wire. You can run many different "virtual wires" over a single base-spanning wire. Transmitters send frames of information that are tagged with a destination address. Receivers listen for frames sent to their address and translate the frame back to a usable signal. Conceptually, it works a lot like Ethernet, but this isn't an actual Ethernet implementation. (If you want to see real-life networking protocols in Factorio, check out Feathernet.) Features
ExamplesI use these blueprints in my survival games to do things like:
I don't stretch long wires around my base anymore. Well, just one - the green network wire. I don't have to worry about which wire is which because everything goes over one long-distance wire. Blueprints!blueprint https://gist.github.com/Majiir/4ef95aedebdf4ba552aa1be409f9475e The Ethernet book contains four blueprints:
The Core + Retransmit blueprint is the foundation of the two transmitters. It provides addressing, collision detection, retransmission, congestion control, frame assembly and success indicators. You could use this blueprint to build a new type of transmitter (e.g. a buffered packet transmitter). User's guideAddressingTransmitter and receiver stations are configured with an address using the gray color signal. Receivers will only process signals that were sent to their configured address. There are 232 (~4 billion) usable addresses. ModesBoth modes simulate a wire between a transmitter and a receiver. The modes make different tradeoffs to operate on a shared channel. Level mode sends the latest value of the input signal. It might skip some intermediate values if the signal is rapidly changing. Pulse mode sends the pulses given in an input signal. It might combine multiple pulses by summing them if the signal is rapidly pulsing. Examples:
Receivers
Transmitters
Retransmit CoreThis module is a little trickier to work with.

Is there any way to undo all of the undo commands I've put in. Posted: 27 Dec 2019 06:12 PM PST After exhausting all of the forum/google searches I could think of, and looking at just about every keybind possible, I've decided to come here. Due to how 'undo' works my machines won't work because anything with a red X over it will not run as it needs to. Short of replacing everything I've already placed, is there anyway to fix this problem with a command? People have mentioned a redo button, but there's nothing in controls for that.
