    I have around 10 to 20 ticks of latency. It feels a little laggy, yet no way near unplayable.

    What is average latency? And is there anything I can do, or does it not go below 15 ticks ≙ 250ms, unlike other games where ~100ms is a lot?

    EDIT: Combat with such latency is NOT FUN.

    Finally got to orbit, then landed on a far planet to get some Cryonite - and the biters on the homeworld went *wild*. Due to having the Silo Construction mod, building a new silo to get myself home takes ~50k combined resources and about 30 minutes, minimum. Wave after wave after wave crashed into my walls at home as a desperately built the infrastructure needed to get myself.

    Every single outpost was lost. I couldn't save *anything* except the center block of the humble beginnings of my megabase. The walls are now fairly unbreachable, a combination of depleted uranium machine gun turrets, laser, flamethrowers, shotgun turrets using improved rounds (mod), cannons & heavy cannons (mod), and missile launchers (mod). Thanks to core mining, the base is able to survive - for now.

    However, even with multiple Ion cannons in orbit, expansion is slow going. The biters are now very large, and very angry (maybe I went overboard with the enemy mods...). I have oil inside the main factory square, but it's down to the bare minimum. Expanding to any sort of resources will require protection along the entire railway, or else a stray biter will come along and destroy *something*. Lil' bastards.

    Then I realized - rather than fight ever increasingly angry biters the rest of the game, why not just pop up to Penium (closest moon) and set up shop there? Boom. No more biters to worry about; all the room I need to expand; fresh resources to gather; access to Iridium. Really, I don't see why I should stay on Nauvis at all.

    Anyone else try this?

    Transporting ore over large distances?

    The iron ore source near my factory is starting to run out .
    How do you transport ore from another place to the factory? Can you just use belts or should you use trains?

    Hello. I have been playing factorio for a long time now and I really want to make a megabase.

    I designed this a long time ago but I never could find the motivation to make it in to a megabase. The railway is not perfect and I really really want it to be perfect. My only solution to this is a Viaduct.

    I fancy beauty in my designs and I would like to make Mk.2 of that intersection that I linked. I also have a new nuclear reactor made for that already. If that image is blurry just zoom in for better resolution.

    The reactor is quite large but it nothing compared to the size of that intersection as shown here.

    However if I could use viaducts I would be able to make that intersection smaller yet faster and still fit my reactor inside.

    Please devs I heard you already have this in mind and viaducts would be the only reason I would buy your expansion. I would really like to play the game again and make my first megabase.

    Beginner question about trains … ��

    I've finished the tutorial and am now on my first vanilla play through , maybe ~10-15 hours in

    My first long distance mine is actually belt fed because "trains? Naaaa I'll never need that much raw material all at once". Lol.

    So I'm in the process of setting up my first train. It's got rail between my main base and outpost, it's got 2 train stops, it's got 2 fluid wagons, and 1 engine facing forward and backwards so 2 total

    The issue is the train says it doesn't have a path to/from the outpost, but it does. So obviously I'm missing something but I have no idea what it could be lol

    What are your checklists for correcting train logistics? Thanks!

    (Screenshot incoming after I get the train setup so you all can marvel at how I get anything produced haha)

    Simple Kovarex setup

    I "designed" a simple Kovarex setup.

    It's been running for a while and it's outputting a significant amount of U-235. Only logic is the stack inserter on the left who is activated if U-238 < 1 and the is set to "read belt contents" and "hold".

    It took a while to take off, but now it's running. Problems I see with it: Any disturbance (brown-/blackout, not enough U-238 lol) would cause the system to need a full reboot (which takes forever).

    Are there more possible problems I am missing?
