Posted: 17 Mar 2021 08:01 AM PDT Is it possible to automate bots to repair active trains when they come into the station? I'm considering the idea of making my outpost walls just 3 tracks of double train engines with like 6 trains per track. Just circling around fast as possible and smashing bugs with enough trains going that there are basically no gaps. The "fort" part with a few guns and a couple stations. Each train would sit in the station for 5 seconds, then shoot back out. Probably need to split it into like 3 stations per track to stagger the wait time. During this time though is there a way to automate bots repairing any damage done? [link] [comments] | ||

Posted: 16 Mar 2021 09:11 AM PDT I had an idea for a little video, but i need footage of player getting run over by train in factorio. i looked online, and there isn't anything good, and last time i tried to record my screen i had a mental breakdown because i couldn't make any screen recording soft work. ideally i need 7-10 seconds clip of someone getting run over without expecting it at all. would be best if camera wont be zoomed in too much, and wont be too far away so you can see both character and train well. if someone can send such clip please DM me [link] [comments] | ||
Posted: 16 Mar 2021 04:20 PM PDT I just started a new game with default settings and I'm coming from a game with many resource patches with max richness (no need for trains) and I really cant get the hang of it. I'm particularly struggling with trying to get one of my trains to queue up behind a train that is unloading. To explain it simply i basically have two trains running on a track that is a big circle. One train follows the other. How do set it up so one train doesn't run into the back of the one before it. I've tried so many different signal/light configurations and I can't seem to get it to work. How to have at most one item in a Chest/Assember at a time? Posted: 16 Mar 2021 08:00 PM PDT So I followed Nilhaus' Limitless Uranium 235 video, and chose the first approach without the circuits because I haven't really played with them yet. Anyhow, I placed a Blue chest request just one U-235 some distance away by my Assembler. I wanted to occasionally have just one U-235 be floated over to my Uranium Cell Assembler, but they kept carrying 4 to my Blue chest, and then dumping 2 of them into the Assembler. It was generating Uranium Cells too quickly. I know, I know, first world problems, lol. So I positioned a Purple storage chest next to my Blue chest, placed a Blue inserter with a limit of 1 item per grab, while the other Blue inserter filled the Purple chest with the remaining 3. And lo and behold, bots came and floated over to the Purple chest to retrieve the 3 U-235, and carry them back to the original source, the Yellow storage chest (Yes, I found a use for a Purple chest!). Anyway, if someone has a better solution to having at most one item in my Blue chest at a time, please let me know. Even if it does use Circuits. Thanks in advance! You can see the 2 bots crossing paths: one bringing 4 to the Blue chest on the left, and one bringing back 3 to the Yellow chest on the right. It's quite the ballet. [link] [comments] | ||
