    This has been one of the most fun games I've played in a long time. I got it about 4 days ago and have spent over 55 hours now building my first base. If the devs are on this subreddit at all, I just want to say well done this has been easily the most fun I've had since I was a kid playing Anno 1503. To the community I can't wait to join it and I just wish I could have joined it sooner.

    I´ve been playing factorio for a bit now and i´m always so excited for new things!

    Do any of you know if the devs look at this subreddit? I think there are some really crazy cool ideas and designs that have come to life over the time.

    So here is what i think could come next, or at least what i wish for:

    Player Related:
    - Electric Fences, shocking biters when attacked. Nuclear Upgrade, similar to how heatpipes are working, there could be an upgraded "Electric Fence" that incinerates nearby creatures. (Making more deadlier versions of biters a possibility to expand on)
    - Jetpacks, crossing water without the need to landfill entire continents! Potentially even upgradeable with speed or fuel efficiency gear similar to a modular armor or spidertron.
    - "Electron Focus", an array that could bundle electricity and "Shoot" them in a direction, depending on how you placed your "Electron Focus", with a drop off in efficiency for distance. At the other end where your desperate iron deposit is that you want to conquer, but there is no electricity "OH NO! So many power poles..." but not with another "Electron Focus" set to receive the beam from the sending counter part. Long distance electricity! Sprinkle in a few Prisms/Special Mirrors to redirect beams, Boom! But be sure to configure your sender accordingly or your home base will go dark from sending all of their produced electricity out and not having enough for itself.

    Alien (I actually don´t know what the enemies are called, except biters, spitters, worms...) Related:
    - Flying Enemies, potentially getting a revamp of our turrets, where they are split, some are for ground units some are specialized for taking down flyers. Flak Cannons for example as a side grade for regular gun turrets. Gun turrets could shoot both ground and air, but "Flak Turrets" are special for air and "Shredder Turrets" are special for ground units.
    - "Creep" Towers, spread a invigorating ground in a radius around them, making every alien structure take less damage, based on the mutation level of the Tower, which also affects how large the radius could be. Additionally every grounded alien also benefits from this special ground. Player Structures on this ground, operate less efficient or slower. To combat these towers, put constant pressure on them, shoot them, burn them, bombard them with artillery, till the spread "creep" is gone, then finally you can kill the tower!
    - Lairs, a mega-structure only the bravest could try to conquer. A multi-layered Hive that can only be taken out by killing the core... there are so many different ways to go about this... e.g. it could be something like this: "Take out the X number of 'Metamorphosis Hearts' that are somewhere inside, only then will the path to the heart of the lair open"

    "Any" Related:
    - Layers! Building upon the Lairs concept. You could have different layers in the world, specified at world creation how much the maximum would be. 10 Layers, for example could be 5 layers "up", Ground layer and 4 layers "down" as a basement. For every level you´re away from the ground layer it could exponentially change your cost of building in such extreme heights or depths. Support Structures to keep from coming crashing down. Building a reactor on the 5th air layer? Well to even place it down you have to enforce every layer below, 5 steel per square for level 1, 10 for level 2, etc... Oh man im getting excited about underground factories already, what about the polution stuck down there? Well better get some air pumps to get some fresh air down there or you´re gonna suffocate if you want to expand down there. Multi Layered Pipes for Liquids and gases! Arrghhh!!

    Seriously i could write for hours and not stop, but that is not the point... I love factorio... What are your thoughts, wishes, expectations? Already excited to hear your opinion!

    The cliff explosive effect looks terrible; suggestion to add obscuring smoke/rubble

    The visual illusion of height the cliffs provide is executed quite well, but when you use cliff explosives, they just pop out of existence with a pitiful little score mark on the ground, completely destroying the illusion and looking very bad.

    It would be nice to, for instance, obscure the removing of the cliffs with an explosion/smoke effect, then add rubble and a rocky terrain under the area the explosives blew up.

    Obviously this is a minor point, but this game is so excellent that even little things like this stand out. I wouldn't be surprised if something like this were in the works.

    So the intergallactic transiever is charged and i'm finally off this filthy planet. Where to is the question :) Seablock perhaps, ir reddit has something better to offer? I dont like to pursue high SPM's and prefer to go for a single distant goal that ends the game. First rocket launch or intergallactic transiever or whatever. What mod would you suggest?

    Is the following possible with trains and combinators? A Passenger train network where ALL the trains on the network automatically move to the next station when I am on board.

    Is the following possible with trains and combinators? A Passenger train network where ALL the trains on the network automatically move to the next station when I am on board.

    So Imagine a train network that runs in a loop around a megabase (like in the image but way bigger obviously). All the trains are an engine only that waits at each station on the network. Whenever I get in a train it automatically takes me to the next station and every train on the network also moves forward one. I figure it would be a good way of getting around quickly.
