    I started playing Factorio several years back, with a good friend of mine from work. We've since both left that company, and work elsewhere now, but I keep coming back to Factorio.

    I remember when we first started, he had a factory that had just started oil processing, and had automated car production, where I was still very much in the spaghetti stage of just throwing stuff down where it fit and going from there.

    I recently (for about the 10th time) started a heavily modded Bob's/Angels play (not seablock though, cause who has that kind of time!) and invited him to take a look at the base. His reaction at just seeing the basic mining to crushing to refining to smelting process, and then the algae to paper to wooden boards for basic circuits reminded me of how I felt watching his blue belted base way back when, and made me think for a moment about just how far I had come. As I say, it was a bittersweet moment, and testament to how this game has grabbed by attention over the years to a point where I have nearly 900 hours played, where most games might see a hundred hours of play in my steam library and then get discarded for something new.

    The factory grows.

    How does repair packs actually work?

    I cant for the life of me figure out how to use the repair packs and its becoming quite critical. I have atleast 5 enemy bases constantly attacking me and im using a ton of resources building new items.

    From my understanding you left click the repairpack in the inventory, then move the cursor over the damaged turret (that is build, not in my inventory) and hold left click. I have made sure that I am standing close. But nothing happens. Ive checked that the mouse works flawlessly, i have the g603 and have drivers and everything installed. Even my windows install is recent. I have even reset the controls, and have everything default.

    Please help me, its taking the joy out of dealing with the enemy.

    EDIT: Holy shit, I found the bug! If you have master volume at 0% then the repairpacks dont activate!
    Im going to leave this post so people can see it for future reference.

    Help with UPS/FPS Graphics Settings

    Hi,

    Can anyone help me out with graphics settings?

    I have an issue with UPS/FPS reducing to 25/25 after playing for a short while.

    I used Nvidia Experience to optimise the settings for me. Afterwards, i removed all of the "Show xxx" items to reduce the load, but with little luck.

    As per Task Manager, the game runs from GPU1 - GPU GeForce GTX 960M

    I can see from my performance monitor that after playing for a while my CPU gets throttled to 30%, which is when i have issues with UPS/FPS.

    I have a Dell XPS 9550

    i7-6700HQ

    16GB RAM

    1TB SSD

    IGPU Intel HD 530

    GPU GeForce GTX 960M

    Made my first mod! Robot Recall lets you call any robots in your logistic network to it, so you can easily remove/upgrade robots you have in your network.

    I wasn't able to find a modpack myself, so maybe someone has a list I could use? I don't know if I have it in me to spend hours figuring out which mods I should use.

    I am building rail cityblock base from early stages of game. I did huge iron, copper and green circuit prods using only red-green tier tech. Now my next goal is oil refinery plant. The problem is, it would take 70 oil refineries and about 200 chem plants to produce 1 red belt of plastic, sulfur and solid fuel, which would be a total mess in piping, space and logistics IMO. And I haven't started purple science yet. So I see few options here:

    1. Built smaller oil setup with beacons and tier 1 modules, upgrade later to tier 2-3
    2. Use my existing jumpstart refinery to rush for purple science and blue circuits, build modules tier 3 prod

    Any suggestions?

    Locked Steam achievements

    So I was playing this game for a bit - have roughly 250h (I know that for this forum it's a rookie number :)), and wanted to test throughput of a design. That's why I installed creative mod and started a new map. Then I realized I no longer can get two last Steam achievements...

    Is there any way to unblock it? I've uninstalled the mod but I guess it didn't work. I am able though to get in game achievements. Thanks for any advice

    Is Factorio Worth It?

    Is factorio worth it now that Satisfactory is out. It is still being updated and is it still fun in 2020?

    my first post with a blueprint.

    I can't get full 4 blue belts out of it, despite factorio planner says I should be getting it. Any idea where could be a mistake? I suspect the output could not be balanced well enough
