Major update to 4-way Intersection Testbench!

    Posted: 30 Mar 2020 07:03 AM PDT

Major update to 4-way Intersection Testbench!

So this is my second major update to Aaarghas 4-way intersection test bench.4-way forums

The reason to use a testbench is to improve your intersections and see how changes affect its throughput also to see if you can make the highest throughput intersections=)

Supports up to 8 lanes and adaptable to longer trains.

    Supports 3-way intersection test

Manual and Autotester with results on display

It is now easier to use, with a new auto tester for standardized tests.

    New update with Auto tester

    - Runs 3 tests when started.

    - Checks automatic for RHD/LHD

    - Clears intersection after use

You can switch between auto and manual mode.

Manual mode also got an upgrade

    - Everything is now nuclear

    - Now everyone can test with the same results.

    - Adaptable to run quicker tests.

    Factory Isn't Running After Load

    Posted: 30 Mar 2020 08:12 AM PDT

I just loaded my map from yesterday, and none of the assembling machines or miners are doing anything. I can hear them running but when I click on them, the progress bar is just frozen in place. I even place new assemblers and they just refuse to do anything.

I've tried saving and reloading, restarting game and PC, and using an autosave from a few minutes before. Other saves from a while ago work fine.

Am I screwed? Any ideas? Thanks

    Challange: Industrial Revolution. Status: Completed.

    Industrial Revolution Challange

    https://i.imgur.com/q8Bo1JA.jpg

    Requirements:

    • All intermediate product required on more then one location, will need a seperate sub factory
    • all sub factories are only train fed (<1-4-<1)
    • Alls sub factories consist out of standard blueprints (they evolved during the paytrought offcourse)
    • play with steam power as long as possible (sub sections are turend off when requirement is met or no input is available)

So after some 300+ hours, almost 100 trains and 450+ stations the challange is completed

Can my pc run the game decently?

    Posted: 30 Mar 2020 06:32 AM PDT

I've been playing the most recent demo, I LOVE FACTORIO. I played the most recent demo with absolutely no problem until unlocking all researches.

I'm no tech-savvy, but I wanted to try to play the main version of Factorio on my laptop (Windows 10)

Game requirements as on the site:

    • 4GB RAM
    • DirectX 10.1 capable GPU with 512 MB VRAM - GeForce GTX 260, Radeon HD 4850 or Intel HD Graphics 5500
    • Dual core 3GHz+ processor
    • 1920x1080 screen resolution
    • 3 GB of disk space
    • A 64-bit operating system

    Recommended requirements:

    • 8GB RAM
    • DirectX 11 capable GPU with 2 GB VRAM - GeForce GTX 750 Ti, Radeon R7 360
    • Quad core 3GHz+ processor

What I found in my settings:

    • Processor - Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-8145U CPU @ 2.10GHz 2.30 GHz
    • Installed RAM - 8.00GB (7.82GB usable)
    • System type - 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

If I don't meet some of these requirements, how much will it affect my gaming? How big a base could I get before unplayability?

    Thank you in advance

How do I reset an arithmetic (counter) combinator to ZERO after X amount of items have passed thru the belt?

    Posted: 29 Mar 2020 10:12 PM PDT

I want to do the following logic:

    • Count the number of items on a belt.
    • When the number of items = 41, activate an inserter and remove an item (this part is done)
    • Reset the counter to ZERO.

Because Factorio treats a zero signal as 'no signal' I'm having a hard time doing this.

I tried to send a signal = signal *-1 and loop it the the counter.

I was expecting it to SUM the values and equal zero...instead it sets the value to -41

    Please help.

    Is this smelting setup inneficient?

    Posted: 30 Mar 2020 05:44 AM PDT

I'm using a setup I found over here for this save, but I just realized it's outputting 19k instead of 21,6k. Is there anything blatantly wrong with it or the guy just messed up the amount of furnaces?

Remove/reduce padding for crafting category icons (0.18)

Remove/reduce padding for crafting category icons (0.18)

    Half complaint, half suggestion.

I've recently upgraded to 0.18 experimental, and I've noticed that there's now about 20px of padding/greyspace around the category icons meaning they now appear about half the size that they previously did. Can this padding be reduced slightly? It's hard to see the difference between some of the modpacks at a glance.

    Thanks.

EDIT: While it's something that could be got used to and it wouldn't annoy some players for more than a few minutes, some people could be coming to the game for the first time or playing their first modded play through which can be complex enough without a hard-to-interpret GUI complicating matters further. Others may be looking to play the game with elderly relatives remotely during these troubling times. I appreciate that the interface can be scaled up (I did try this myself) but this is a mixed solution as it makes the padding even bigger.
