Why is this game addictive like nothing else? Posted: 27 Jan 2020 02:36 AM PST I really don't get it. I actively have to NOT play this game, because once I do I pour every single spare minute I have into it. Skipping dinner, skipping other important things because they're not as important as upgrading my smelting because I hit another bottleneck. Oh and I can go to bed an hour later, sure. It's only an hour. Why? I don't have this with any other game, most I play for 2 hours max and then get bored with it. This just keeps on going. After not playing for months this weekend I logged 30 hours into a new save. Ugh. [link] [comments]

Posted: 27 Jan 2020 07:56 AM PST Are there any advantages when it comes to trains driving on the right side or left side, or does it just come down to preference? [link] [comments]

Accumulators for laser turrets, and laser turret power grid? Posted: 27 Jan 2020 12:21 AM PST In my last build I used laser turrets for certain areas of my base, and I noticed that when they shoot they use up a lot of power. (I am still learning the game) and I want to get back into playing it but want a more efficient way to use laser turrets. A while ago I saw a video of someone using combinators to sepperate power grids, using the logic system to create an on/of switch for a power grid (I think it was for a backup power generator or something, not sure) And when I remembered it recently, it got me thinking of using accumulators and combinators to power laser turrets, and to somehow have power put power into the accumulator, but only let the laser turret draw that power out, and to separate the power so that the laser turrets don't draw power from the main grid. Essentially it would be like this: Laser turret has its own power grid, away from the base grid. The two grids are bridged together with one or more accumulators. Base grid is allowed to supply power to the accumulators, but isn't allowed to draw power from it. Turret grid is allowed full access to the accumulators. Is this something that is possible to do? If so, how many accumulators are needed to power one laser turret, and assuming the turret is constantly firing, how long would it take for the minimum number of accumulators to be drained of power, assuming they're full and aren't being resupplied as they drain? I feel like if I can get this done, it would save the base from power spikes when lasers are firing. Would this set up be too expensive to be practical? I'm not very good at math and I don't know much about combinators as I've only used them so far to help control oil flow. [link] [comments]

Posted: 27 Jan 2020 08:41 AM PST Is it possible to make polls in reddit? Would love a train poll where people could vote for their favorite train setups. Anyway whats your favorite Train Setup? 1-1 1-2 1-3 1-4 2-4 2-5 2-6 2-7 2-8 3-8 Or even bigger? [link] [comments]

Why does it look like when i use underground pipes, sulfuric acid wont flow? Posted: 27 Jan 2020 08:18 AM PST when i use underground pipes for water and oil it works but for sulfuric acid it won't flow through the underground part. what's going on? [link] [comments] |
