    Before the engineer arrived on Nauvis, the Biter population seemed to have lived in relative harmony with eachother, at least to the point of respecting some borders. This could be defined as primitive communism. The is no class distinction, as there are no means of production. The labor of defending/attacking was biter labor, rather than automated labor. This changed when the engineer arrived. From now on, there is a class distinction between the bourgeoisie(the engineer) and the proletariat(the biters). When the engineer arrives, they immediately take over a starting area, usually involving violence against the biters. At this point, we would expect historical materialism to progress naturally. How ever, the biters labor is useless for the engineer, barring rare exceptions. Because of this, the engineer dominates the population, as they do not require any labor which they cannot provide for themself. At this point, the biters gain some idea of class consciousness, setting aside their differences to destroy the engineer. However, because the engineer requires very little of their own labor to expand their enterprise, they are able to continue to dominate them using new technology. The only way in which the biters can win is if they are able to make fit in the engineers best material interest to give up their lifestyle. This can of course never happen, as the engineer has no other place to go. The engineer must therefore continue fighting. Eventually, even when the biters evolve to their best forms, the engineer is still able to keep up with it. This means that the biters have to chance of ever achieving communism, and cannot better their material conditions even under the thumb of the engineer.

    Can yu guys help me optimize this? basically i have 6 outputs from furnaces, boiled down to 3 main conveyor routes, but i keep getting bottlenecks here and there, yet the 3 main conveyors are not full. I will use either more furnaces or blue modules to increase output. Thanks for any tips.

    I feel as though green modules are never used and exist only to bother you if you dont research them. Prod and speed modules are everywhere, but i have never seen a single eff in any base, regardless of size. But, if you could put them in, say, a steam engine, or a solar panel, they would suddenly become useful, and a true part of the game rather than an obsolete member of the module family.

    [LTN] I am unable to send out nuclear fuel to my depots around my map. Why is this?

    So I have recently made a switch from rocket fuel to nuclear fuel, so I thought it would be as simple as changing the requests on the fuel depot stations and giving it a station to take the fuel from, but this doesn't seem to work. I have the same exact blueprint as I have for all of my other output stations, but it still doesn't work. Is there some magic that I need to know for it to work?

    Hey there,

    I just restarted one of my older saves on 0.17. I noticed that my nights are way longer than the wiki says. As you can see from the timespan in which my solar panels produce power, my nights are 4.5 minutes long, whereas my days are just shy of 2.5 minutes. The wiki says that nights are only supposed to be 40 seconds long.

    Could this be caused by one of these mods?:

    Unable to connect to multiplayer servers

    I've been having this bug for a while now and seen other players with it too but no proper solution.

    I cannot connect to multiplayer servers. The game downloads about 2MB of the map and then the connection drops. This seems to be all servers that are headless, modded and unmodded. If I join a player hosted game it works fine.

    I have reinstalled Factorio, including appdata. No joy. Disabled firewall no joy. Although firewall does not make sense since it would just block the connection outright.

    We found a workaround of limiting the download speed to 512kbps, which is less than 1/10th of the upload speed the server is capable of. This prevents being dropped but it makes the map take a good 5 min to download and then another 5 min to catch up, most players have stopped playing with this since its not worth waiting 10 min to play. This is in a early to mid game map. It isnt even that big yet. This isnt a practical solution.

    I would appreciate any help anyone can give to solve this. theres one of my debug logs included below.

    is there a way to quiet the noise bots make

    I need to find a mod or some setting that quiets or mutes the sounds bots make but not the other sounds like the steam engine or inserter noises. Any ideas?

    Train/Chain Signal Pathing Error?

    My current pathing issue

    Does anyone have any idea what I've done wrong? I created an account just for this cus I have no idea where else to get help XD I watched a ton of tutorials and put chain signals before every intersection and rail signals at the end and all along the rest of the track, no shorter than my longest train. The top left track is heading upwards, coming from bottom left track, and the train on it works perfectly. However, the right track in the top left leads down, and is SUPPOSED to take the train into that station to the right, where I HOPED it would offload it's stuff, and back out onto the lower track and up onto the top left track heading back up. Again, both straight tracks work fine. The train is able to move along the whole thing and come back again. The train on the turny tracks has a pathing error, despite running on the exact same working track as the original train up to this point. it can get out of this station, and all the way to the other station, but once there, it can't get back. I've scoured countless tutorials and for the life of me can't figure out what I've done wrong XD It looks right to me. Also forgive me if I did this post-thing wrong, idk.
