Anyone know whether the "new fluid system" is still coming to the game? Posted: 24 Jan 2020 12:56 AM PST In https://factorio.com/blog/post/fff-274 , over a year ago, it was mentioned that a new fluid system is in the works (or actually completed?). Anyone knows whether this is still coming in some future release (hopefully during 0.18?) or maybe this idea was dropped completely and we have to live with the current system? I must say that the current fluid system is something I cannot really understand - it behaves erratically and randomly, seemingly unimportant changes can have tremendous effects, while apparently important ones (like putting pumps at every split/merge to force proper direction of flow) either do nothing or even make things worse /; More than once I had an impression that a setup that worked before doesn't work when I build the same thing again. On top of that "debugging" the problems is a game of trial & error, played blind, because the most important parameter (flow rate) is not visible for pipe segments... [link] [comments]

This... feels like a milestone? Posted: 23 Jan 2020 12:38 PM PST In the middle of my first sandbox playthrough, and just reached the point where I started ripping out huge chunks of my factory because "I don't like the way it's laid out!". Oddly enough, this feeling set in shortly after I gained the ability to cut/paste and construction robots, lol. Nonetheless, I'm claiming this as an achievement, even though there's no way for the game to track it. How long did it take you before you started tearing things out? Was it before or after robotics? Building everything from scratch seems to be a deterrent, at least it was for me. [link] [comments]
The costs of an AWS factorio server Posted: 23 Jan 2020 10:39 PM PST So im here hoping that someone knows the answer, because I sure cant find it! A friend and I have been working on a megabase for a while and where forced to switch providers recently. I got looking into AWS and they seem perfect for our needs. I played around and found that a t2.large instance is perfect for our needs and runs all our stuff lag free. The issue I have is that for the life of me I cant figure out how much this thing costs! I assume im only paying while its running, but am I paying for the CPU credit usage? if no one is logged into the server and it's paused, am I still paying full price? Should I shut it down when no one is on it? and how much does the dang thing cost at all? Any advice would be lovely! I have searched hard for the information and found some prices listed in places, but nothing that I can seem to make heads or tails of. CPU Utilization (%) while logged in and everyone playing =50% (about .28% when paused) CPU credit usage when everyone is in and running around= about 5 (about .026 when paused) ^^^what the heck is that anyways?! Thanks again! [link] [comments]

Are there websites where you can download and use for free graphics for factorio? Posted: 24 Jan 2020 06:20 AM PST I am interested in starting making mods for factorio, but I'm not good at graphics. So I am curious if there is any website from where I could download some graphics for entities. I have been asking uncle Google for an hour or so but honestly I couldn't find any myself. Thanks in advance. [link] [comments]

Posted: 24 Jan 2020 08:34 AM PST I saw this game has some bad reviews so I'm confused. If you can tell me it's pros and cons I'll be very thankful. [link] [comments]
Posted: 24 Jan 2020 01:02 AM PST Is there a mod to bring an Mech ingame? Can anyone please make one? I've seen some old Mechwarrior vids lately and i really want them now to crush my enemys. Maybe some really fancy new sprite for the Suite? The Tank stuff is really not fancy. [link] [comments]
How to make my FACTORIO experience better? [Bob's 0.17] Posted: 24 Jan 2020 08:30 AM PST I installed Bobs mods and a ton of more mods that make my game harder. Now I wanna know how to make my experience from "HELL I WANNA DIE" into "this is fun". Im still quite away from the logistics bots wich I need actually to make my factory work properly. Does anyone has a good way to move a looot of stuff faar away? Also should I update to 0.18? [link] [comments]
Posted: 24 Jan 2020 08:12 AM PST Hello I wanted to start a new game in 0.18 but I can't start without alien biomes as isn't the not the kind of mod you can add later in the game - is it safe to "manually update" it by changing the JSON file from 0.17 to 0.18? I know that isn't exactly how it's supposed to work... [link] [comments]
I just realized that I've never actually made a single blue belt, ever... Posted: 23 Jan 2020 12:34 PM PST Are they good? They just seem like such a waste of resources. Even red belts just feel unnecessary to me, and I don't like funneling all my iron into belt production when I could be making science or ammo instead. All my factories are almost entirely yellow belts, but perhaps it's worth it to upgrade to red or blue. [link] [comments]
Posted: 24 Jan 2020 06:51 AM PST What's the current state of the game? How's the gameplay? How much content/replayability is there?(Singleplayer only)How much playtime could you get?How important the combat is?Are there any big modpacks like for Minecraft? How does it compare to Satisfactory? Edit: I've spent about half an hour of the demo and I'm already in love, definitely buying it. Thanks everyone. [link] [comments] |
