    Force-separating a mods functions.

    Posted: 19 Dec 2019 06:43 AM PST

I want to use the homeworld mod (https://mods.factorio.com/mod/homeworld-reloaded) in a PvP game with my brother. Unfortunatly it is linked across forces. We send to one stoickpile, and supply one homeworld. Not exactly PVP. I've tried to seperate it (even making a seperate mod for Team B), but I don't know lua well enough, and have only sucedded in adding a lot of bugs and command conflicts. Any advice?

    Coming back to the game

    Posted: 19 Dec 2019 06:22 AM PST

So I love this game and I've got 400 hours in it but I love to restart and I've never built a rocket lol. I'm coming back to the game after some time and I always seem to hit a mental wall where I just don't want to do the math on what I need to do to achieve my next task. So it takes me forever sometimes to progress in this game but when I do it's just amazing.

Eventually though I get to a point where even with a well thought out factory I begin to start feeling overwhelmed. I get many minor issues that seem to tank my efficiency and after awhile Im doing more problem solving then actual progression. At some point I usually get frustrated with this and walk away from the game for awhile or start over trying to avoid the minor problems in my new factory.

I don't know what my point is really but I was hoping people would offer some fresh ideas to help me out but really what would be useful is you guys could share your strategy for overcoming challenges in this game. Like how do you approach problems mentally. This seems to be my biggest weakness.

Anyways drop some friendly comments and let's chat.

"Steam" Key vs Wube vs GOG: Which is better?

    Posted: 19 Dec 2019 03:18 AM PST

After sometime testing pirate version of the game, i want to buy.

STEAM KEY: 23.86 € I have some wallet credit in Humble Store, the game will cost me a little less and give me the Windows / Mac / Linux Steam Key and 5% to charity. FACTORIO.COM 26.99 €: The official game in Factorio.com cost more. Giving the same keys, and download from Wube web. I don't know if claiming the Steam Key reduces the profit of WUBE.

Picking Steam or Wube key, you can claim the other.

GOG 27.09 €, without DRM and unlinked with the rest. Some reviews expose problem playing in LAN (need connection to master server), and lesser updates in GOG (Only stable updates?)

    Any help?

    Posted: 19 Dec 2019 06:27 AM PST

so i learned about factorio a while ago and jumped in a couple weeks ago and i love it.

Now i'm 30-40 hours in my first game. still suck big time.. and about to empty the first iron patch i had.

I guess my next move it to get trains going to move a lot of stuff very soon..i feel like only destroying absolutely everything is the only to go...

must be a ritual i guess

How do I enable/disable debug/bounding boxes on UI elements

    Posted: 19 Dec 2019 07:39 AM PST

My cat walked on my keyboard and now there are red bounding boxes around all the UI elements. How do I disable them? I don't see anything checked in the F4 debug menu.

    The best way to Co-op.

    Posted: 19 Dec 2019 07:13 AM PST

We are 2 Factorio and real life friends and, for the first time, we want to build something togheter. What is the best and simplest way that doesn't involve buying a server?

    Thanks!

    268 hours of modular base

    268 hours of modular base

I started this play in 0.16, and never updated. I wanted to make a completely modular base, with Angels+Bobs inspired by Nilaus. After a 100 hours of play I disabled the biters. After 268 hours, I didn't launched a single rocket... I'm still missing rocket fuel too... Every block (city block maybe a trademark... ;) ) has only one responsibility. I'm under 1 GW and I don't have solar or nuclear power... Everything is running with good old coal (and its products). For the trains I'm using LTN, and for the stations I made my own balancing logic. The trains unloading their content into two Angel's Warehouses. Between the warehouses there are some filtered stack inserters with some logic. They will balance the amount between the houses no matter where the ingredients are going out, so in the warehouses there will be the same amount of ingredients for every different type. And a nice thing: with this layout I didn't had a single train deadlock. Ever.

This is the robot based \"mall\". I'm using Long Reach, this is why I'm gathering the products in the sides of the blocks.

One of my favourite builds, it took some time to think it through
