[Feature request] It would be really cool if you could type "16k" and then it would auto complete it to "16000"

Base-In-A-Book ready for use - Red Belt/Blue Assembler Stage

Base-In-A-Book ready for use - Red Belt/Blue Assembler Stage

As part of my latest Lets Play on YouTube I am creating a complete base and providing detailed blueprints for it. The first stage is now completed; Red Belts / Blue Assemblers / Few Modules/Beacons

    Overview of the Base-In-A-Book

There are several versions of the Blueprints available. Due to their size I cannot share them on Pastebin, so I have created a website to make them all accessible:

    https://nilaus.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/PM/pages/2506129413/Factorio+S51+-+Base-In-A-Book

    - Base-In-A-Book (Stage 1): All Blueprints needed to build the complete base

    - Base-In-A-Book (Everything): Full set for Blueprints for each episode to show transition over 22 episodes

    - Episode X: Specific Blueprints for the state at the end of Episode X

This is from an ongoing YouTube Lets Play and it will continue towards Blue Belt/Yellow Assembler/Modules and further towards Megabasing.

    Something went wrong

I had exterminated its entire family and somewhat this bitter got stuck. Unable to attack me, it started becoming philosophical about life.

What are your favorite QoL mods for Factorio 1.1?

    Posted: 31 May 2021 03:29 AM PDT

I've seen a lot of best QoL mod posts for previous versions of factorio but i dont think i've seen any for the newest version and honestly im hungry for more mods so hit me with the current best and maybe lesser known QoL mod list. (Also not sure whether to flair this as question, modded question or discussion)

Sometimes I like to make random doodads in my bases. Noticed this happening with belts though, is this normal?

How to Fix This in the Fastest Way Possible? (Pick up all items, destroy them if need be, I wanted to see what would happen if I replaced a steel chest with a wooden one)

Logistic robots moving in the shortest part rather than moving along roboprts and charging.

    Posted: 30 May 2021 04:19 PM PDT

Currently I am having an issue where the logistical robots will take the shortest patch between 2 far away roborts rather than taking the path wich the roboports are connected. The issue this causes is that the robots run out of energy and take ages to get to the destination roboport.

Is there any way to make the robots follow the path of roboports or do I just have to make loads of roboports to fill in any gaps that the robots might miss?

    Blueprint train, directly automatic?

    Posted: 30 May 2021 08:14 PM PDT

    Hi Guys.

I want to set down a blueprint of a mining outpost for example or any other stations with trains already with a schedule.

How do I get them to run automatically directly and I just realize how to fill them also? I think bots might do so?..

I read something with a command per console but I don't want to lose the possibility to get achievements and also something with a mod in combination with recursive blueprint but I don't want the blueprint to set automatic but by myself...

Anyone has any idea or a tipp for me?

    Posted: 30 May 2021 02:14 PM PDT

I got to the end of krastorio and the point where i'm working on spaceship construction but I can't seem to produce enough science for the faster the light theories. Any tips would be great.

    Solar Arrays Blueprint Book

    Posted: 30 May 2021 07:16 PM PDT

I have created a blueprint book of 3 solar arrays, including a new solar array that is slightly more efficient than my previous design and is the most area-efficient solar array with roboport and radar coverage ever designed in Factorio.

    Factorio Prints: https://factorioprints.com/view/-Mb-8ayzNVvhbV3UmGwa
    GitHub Gist: https://gist.github.com/RandomComputerUser/c1417a00fe3a43ab8dbf9fc3c136611f

Each design has its own advantages over the others, so I've put the relevant figures in bold.

    Medium Solar Array

This solar array was designed to be chunk-aligned, such that the built-in radars cover the area required for all 8 surrounding stamps in their continuous vision.

    • 96 x 96 tiles = 3 x 3 chunks
    • 30.386 MW sustained
    • 3.297 kW / tile
    • 303.298 tiles / MW
    • 97.029% area efficiency
    • 0.841746 ratio
    • 733 Solar panels
    • 617 Accumulators
    • 26 Substations
    • 2 Roboports
    • 1 Radar

    Large Solar Array

This solar array was designed for maximum area efficiency while still providing full roboport (construction) and radar coverage.

    • 198 x 200 tiles (w x h)
    • 132.201 MW sustained
    • 3.338 kW / tile
    • 299.543 tiles / MW
    • 98.245% area efficiency
    • 0.839975 ratio
    • 3162 Solar panels
    • 2656 Accumulators
    • 103 Substations
    • 6 Roboports
    • 1 Radar

    Medium Solar+Accumulator Array

This solar array was modified for longer burst power output than the Medium Solar Array.

    • 96 x 96 tiles = 3 x 3 chunks
    • 27.614 MW sustained
    • 2.996 kW / tile
    • 333.744 tiles / MW
    • 88.177% area efficiency
    • 1.149925 ratio
    • 667 Solar panels
    • 767 Accumulators
    • 26 Substations
    • 2 Roboports
    • 1 Radar

    Sharing LUA command

    Posted: 30 May 2021 07:22 PM PDT

    Hi,

I've been looking for few hours now, so now I found it, I'd like to share it :)

It's probably pointless for most people, but it'll help me to count and check the number of items produced to raise some alerts on some thresholds.

The command to print the total number produced for one item (here iron-plate):

    /c game.player.print(game.player.force.item_production_statistics.get_input_count("iron-plate"))

EDIT= to display the consumed items replace input by output

Whats a great Let's play series

    Posted: 30 May 2021 02:01 PM PDT

    Hi people!

Can anyone recommend some semi recent let's play? With as little tutorial-explaining as possible and just a nice voice. I've been watching SovietWomble's streams of it and I love the feel of just a bit of doing stuff. Not explaining as much as how it works.

And Nilaus is not an option. He speaks with a Danish accent, and as a fellow Dane it just rubs me wrong when I hear it, no offense to him. It's just a thing for me.

(Space exploration mod) Beaming to a moving spaceship

    Posted: 31 May 2021 12:22 AM PDT

Is it possible to beam to a moving spaceship in the space exploration mod? The images on the wiki page seem to imply its possible. But when I try and do it nothing happens. The beam transmission efficiency drops to zero and the emitter strength starts to climb, just the same as it does if its turned off.

Alternatively if there is somewhere dedicated to chatting about this mod, let me know. My google fu is apparently weak today.
