A moment of appreciation. We can do this to a train wagon and "depart on full cargo" still works exactly as you want it to.

After 150hrs on the same map we finally hit 700SPM! We're refactoring to 5,000SPM now

What about an option to do a single-fill logistic petition? Something like "Delete once petition is fulfilled"

13h into the map, the new purple science production line eats 100% of my steel output, which eats 100% (5 belts) of my iron output. Oh well, time to tap more iron patches...

Excellent Factorio Review in PC Gamer

    Posted: 24 Aug 2020 07:51 AM PDT

    The Demo is perfect...

    Posted: 24 Aug 2020 06:28 AM PDT

or how I learned how to stop worrying and love the factory.

The demo does such a great job introducing the player to the magic that Factorio offers. The first couple of tutorial missions were boring, mainly dealing with coal juggling and manually loading up small systems. The next one where electricity got introduced I started to see. The 4th mission had me hooked (the one where you climb up the tech tree to automobilism). I had a lot of automation started with red and green research and was getting frustrated with the layout. I started a full rebuild of the factory when I realized that the game was for me. Bought it at 8 PM last night and was up til midnight slowly working my way back up.

Without the demo I'm not sure I would've realized the full potential of the game. I would've gotten frustrated with the clunky UI and mechanics. It's gonna be hard to stay focused at work because I keep thinking of ways to grow and build the factory.

    20 hours update, 6 year old's base

It gets lonely on the planet when everything wants to kill you. At least these cats will keep me company!

Are the enemies supposed to be easy?

    Posted: 24 Aug 2020 01:12 AM PDT

I basically just set up my labs and as soon as I researched the military 1 thing and made an automatic rifle, I already exterminated every enemy base in my vacinity. Are they supposed to be this easy?

Version 1.0 is sooooo much better...

    Posted: 23 Aug 2020 08:29 PM PDT

I've had 20+ starts and way too many hours of messing about over the past 9 months - so took a break.

Version 1.0 released... I delete all the old maps and start a new one.

First map - first rocket launch!

It must have been a bug in the beta that was holding me back - I'm sure of it! =P

Such an awesome game...The reality is I was probably just motivated to get a launch. I can easily spend 20 hours playing around with the basic layout and trying to decide on where I might build things in the far off future. This time I just kept moving on and paid a lot more attention to dispatching biters and sorting out resource expansion before the initial ones ran out. In the past, everything gets overrun or I feel like I'm going in circles patching shortages and I give up and start a new map.

Ok - so maybe version 1.0 of me is better... Factorio was been great the whole time.

My first functioning factory (by functioning I mean being able to automatically produce red and green science juice)

Am a new player, made my first attempt at serious base reorganisation with something of a bus.

So much belt fuckery, but i dont think I'm doing too bad in the tutorial! First day player here and this game is scratching an itch I didn't know I had!

Spawned on a big island with one iron and copper deposit, *very* far away, but no stone or coal outside of starting area. How to handle this? (Rail world with RSO, enemy expansion enabled)

    Trains are lit!!

    Posted: 23 Aug 2020 02:33 PM PDT

Damn, I always tried to use as few trains as possible because I did not understand signalling. After learning it, I feel like trains are one of the greatest element in the game. I finally built an actual network instead of most basic A->B Tracks. I just spent an hour just looking at them, perfectly dodging each other and arriving quick as hell, making my base design much more compact

Inventory position resets every time I close it

    Posted: 24 Aug 2020 06:30 AM PDT

Hello ! I wanted to know how to "save" the inventory window position.

Let me explain : very often i'm working in an area, I open my inventory to place things, but the window is in the way, so I move it to the side. But every time I close it the placement resets... Is there any way to save the position so I don't have to move it every time ?
